Episode 10

I'm even more curious about Hargreeves now. Who is the dying woman? When and where are they? It looks like a fleet of colony ships leaving a potentially dying earth, so is Hargreeves part of or aware of (maybe a rogue agent) of the Commission? Is he an alien and not human at all? He clearly can move through time.


Vanya is completely out of control--destroying the house, killing innocent people. Her killing Pogo and mom completely shocks me, especially Pogo. Her anger is valid, but the methods she is choosing to express them are irrational.

I suspected that the rest of the family didn't know that Ben has been Klaus's constant companion since his death. I'm glad that secret is out in the open, that Ben is able to actually be a part of the gang once more, and that everyone now believes Klaus about his existence and ability to help Ben participate in the corporeal world.


I'm a little shocked that Hazel boots Cha Cha from the car and leaves her for dead, but I'm glad he realizes the Handler's offer isn't genuine. I'm surprised that Cha Cha doesn't also realize they're being played. She becomes a pathetic and powerless figure by the end; if only she and Hazel worked together, I think she could have found some kind of happiness. Little bit of cheering going on in the house when Hazel offs the Handler. I cannot tell you how stoked I am that he and Gloria survive and whisk off to times unknown. Her survival was my one hope for the season.


I'm pleased that Diego lets Cha Cha go.


I'm also pleased that Allison chooses not to kill Vanya even though she could easily have done so.

Love Allison and Luther talking to Claire with Luther telling Claire everything he really thinks about Allison.


So now, the next season has a billion questions to answer. Where is 5 sending them? Will they all be in kids' bodies when they get there? Do they go to the future and meet Hargreeves there and set the whole Umbrella Academy in motion? Could the dying woman in the beginning of this episode actually *be* Vanya?


Can't wait to find out.

So much good set-up for next season. If they're in younger bodies, but with older minds (meaning, they're all like 5 now), this gives them a chance for a do-over?

Though of course, some of those do-overs (Allison!) come with a serious price.

Being in the writers' room for this must have been so fun.

Emma and I are even speculating that they cause their own births, that they go back in time and all appear at the same moment, just as fetuses. Maybe that would explain why they don't remember anything.

What do you make of the "I heard a rumor you love me" line in the voice over when Allison is driving? Do you think she said that to Luther or to Patrick? Or someone else?

I def. need to rewatch, as I know there's a ton I missed, the first time around.

It's the one where she's driving to find Vanya. We get a flashback of her telling stories to her daughter, and then Patrick catches her using her power. Then when she's in the car, there's a voice over of her saying a whole bunch of things that start with I heard a rumor. I think they're supposed to be all the times she's used her powers. They're all on top of each other and hard to distinguish, but it ends with her clearly saying, "I heard a rumor that you loved me."

Ah yes, I remember now. I think it was Patrick. Luther always loved her, and at Claire's age, you don't need to tell your kid to love you, even if you aren't the world's best parent.

But Patrick...it would take an awfully strong guy to settle down and procreate with a woman who can literally control his mind. Yikes! And ok, we only got a glimpse of him, but meh. He seemed the bland type. *g*

I think it's ambiguous who she's speaking to. The voice over shows nothing but her behind the wheel with no clue as to who she's addressing in any of the jumbled statements.

I agree with you that it's probably Patrick, but I think it's really really really interesting if it's Luther.
