1. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist for May 26. As it took me 6 months to get my first endocrinologist appointment, I am counting this as a win. Also in the win column, this flare is dying down. I have been much less exhausted and achy over the last few days.
2. A colleague organized a concert reading tonight of a couple of short suffragist plays from the early 1900s, and it was so much fun. My colleague read one character, and students read the others; they dressed in costumes and put on accents, and it was utterly delightful. Not to mention I was really surprised by how funny the plays are; I expected them to be kind of stuffy and moralizing, and instead they were super entertaining. Yay!
3. Josh bought me a Slanket or a Snuggie or whatever you call it for our impending anniversary. I got him file because he kept making sad faces at the gumbo he made last week. LOL I didn't grow up putting file on gumbo because my people are MS Gulf Coast people, but Josh's people were LA transplants to MS so he did. I grew up with seafood gumbo (shrimp and crab bodies and sausage and some chicken but mostly seafood) and had to be convinced that chicken gumbo is worth my time, but OMG Josh's gumbo is worth my time. It's harder to make a rue with gluten free flour, but he is a champ.
4. Week after next is spring break, and the girls have that Monday off, so I think we're going to do a movie day, probably Onward. Looking forward to it.
5. How is the semester half over? This is nuts.

Try Gluten-Free Cornstarch if the gluten free flour isn't working out.
I love plays, been going to live ones since a friend turned me on to them.

Date: 2020-03-11 02:16 pm (UTC)I don't know what I would do without my friends' willingness to accommodate my dietary needs; it means so much when they make gluten free food for me (and that I can trust them to do it correctly; sometimes people are well-meaning but clueless; I had a colleague who brought donuts to a meeting offer to make me some bread that she was going to make in her bread machine that she makes gluten bread in, and I had to shut that down real quick LOL; it meant a lot that she wanted to do that, but obviously, I couldn't have eaten it).
