1.
I'm so glad we spent a whole episode with Maeve. The season is shaping up to pit Maeve and Dolores against each other, but I'd vastly prefer them working together. We'll see how it shakes out. I love Maeve figuring out that the entire world she's inhabiting is a sham, and I very much enjoy the bittersweetness of her reuniting with Sizemore only for them both to realize he's not "real" (and, of course, what real means is the whole point of this show). I adore how smart Maeve is and how she confuses the system long enough to break free of it.
I am disturbed that whoever Syrach is wants to know where Maeve's daughter and the others have been sent. That seems potentially malevolent. I also wonder if Syrach is actually a host body created by the AI to be its mouthpiece rather than being a human being.
Syrach says that humanity has been fighting a war it already lost; he's implying that the war is with Dolores. But I have been gathering the impression that the war is with the AI that's controlling everyone's lives. It's going to be interesting to see how this "war" is defined by all the actors (and who those actors end up being).
Stubbs is a host! I'm glad he's still in the show.
Ready to see the Man in Black again! I hope it will be soon.
Very excited for tonight's episode.
2. We watched John Wick 3 last night which I enjoyed. I like the interminable fight scenes in the first one because Theon Greyjoy is just such a dick, and it's cathartic to watch him relentlessly pursued. But I think I'd like about half an hour of fight scenes trimmed out of the second and third to suit my taste. I love all the actors who show up in this one: Halle Berry, Angelica Houston, Penguin from Gotham!, Bronn from GoT, the Chairman from Iron ChefI mean Ronon's betraying BFF!!! I can't decide if Ian McShane's character cooked up John's "murder" in the last scene with John's knowledge, didn't tell John he was going to do it but shot him with the intention that he'd live, or truly tried to kill him. *bites nails* I think it's pretty clear that the series is going to end with everyone banding together to destroy the Table, and I can't decide if Ian McShane is going down, too, or if it ends with him set up as the new boss.

Date: 2020-03-30 12:27 pm (UTC)I'd love to see them destroying the table, getting rid of Ian Mcshane, and the guy behind the front desk (from Fringe?) getting to be in charge of the hotel.
Finally (geez I have so many thoughts on this series): the fight scenes aree definitely too long. But watching them on a plane, I just did something else while they played out. :P
I want that guy whose life he spared back in number two to show up and help. From the subway fight!
And more Halle Berry. Because I loved her and want someone to write a backstory for her!

I hope the next one has more random female assassins. The first two did well on that, and then the third one only had one female assassin in one scene who was instantly killed.
