1. The car was totalled. We're getting twice as much as I had thought we would, so that's pretty nice. We got a rental car today and are keeping it for a week. Cross your fingers that we can find a car next week and just be done with this mess. My parents are sending us money so we don't have to entirely deplete our savings and can just buy a car outright and not have to finance one. I am so grateful that we are in a place of privilege and can do that.

2. I am definitely not handling driving that stretch of road very well or contemplating anyone in my family driving it very well. But it's the Way to Town and must be driven. *sigh*

3. We started watching She-Ra, and it is so so so good. I love it. We just finished Season 1 episode 8 (Princess Prom), and this show is so sparkly and funny and GAY! Fiona, Emma, and I are super digging it.

4. I'm not up to typing up my ep reviews right now, but we're five episodes into Iron Fist, and Josh, Emma, and I are 100% here for the Danny and Ward interaction. They are bros! They love each other! *happy sigh*

5. I just finished Network Effect, and it does absolutely everything I wanted it to--make me laugh and punch me in the feels. Murderbot sacrifices itself (sort of)! It has a baby with ART (sort of)! We learn more, sort of, about the alien stuff! Murderbot has tons of feels while adamantly denying having them! I absolutely adore this series, and it did me a world of good spending today reading this book instead of worrying about everything. I feel about a thousand times more relaxed.

Thank you. It is a huge PITA, but I keep reminding myself that it's an inconvenience and that we'll get through it.

They are so sweet! We just watched the one with the conversation where Danny admits to him that the Fist is like an addiction, and they bond. It's so good. I can't wait to be done so I can finally, finally read fic.

I've read the four novellas multiple times, and I know I will reread the novel again soon. So so good.

I think we're going to get something a couple of years old. Josh found a really good candidate, and we hope it sticks around until we can go buy it.

Monstrous' car was totalled (another driver T-boned her), and yes, they gave her a lot more than we thought, too. It's nice when that works like that! (This happened a couple years ago.)

Good luck with the car! I hate car shopping so much - luckily you have A Man to come with you, so you don't get condescended to.

Murderbot is so good! There are five of them now, the fifth being a proper novel, and that's the one I just finished.

Catching up so just read about the accident with the bear! So glad everyone was okay (the bear though?) Sounds unusual to me for bears to be crossing roads at day time... Elk accidents are a real risk in Finland but have to say I haven't heard of that happening with bears!

Also, She-Ra is so sparkly and gay and amazing. I still have the final 5th season to watch but can confirm that it will only get gayer. I love it.

I'm pretty sure the bear died. I'd be shocked if it didn't. We called the game warden, but they didn't call us back to confirm if they found it dead.

That area has been having more and more bear crossings over the last couple of years as their territory has shrunk. Several people have hit them on that stretch; they even have signs up warning of them. It really sucks because they contemplated putting in one of those under road tunnels for the bears to use to prevent accidents and it was going to cost like 7 million to do it so they didn't. :(

I am loving She-Ra so hard. It is a femslash dream.
