lunabee341. Trip home was excellent. I hate driving, but the drive there and back was great: no traffic, no rain, and I didn't get lost! I know that's ridiculous as we've been making that drive for 13 years, but I constantly second guess myself.
It was so good to see my MeeMaw; she's 95 and on hospice, and I hadn't seen her in more than two years. She and I have been writing letters (mostly about birds and the pair of rabbits in her yard, Quarantina and Plaguerina LOL), but it was really good to see her. She is mentally sound which is so wonderful. She has taken to reciting all these long poems she learned as a kid every time the family gets together, so that was fun. I've seen videos of the ones I wasn't present for, and wow! I hope to be that sharp at that age.
I got to see my best friend from grade school/high school, andkaleecat came out and spent one whole afternoon with us. <3
We celebrated my birthday and Fiona's birthday, and my sister-in-law (who is just the dearest, dearest person) got me the book the Escape to the Chateau people wrote! So that's our new bedtime reading.
We also went to the new aquarium in Gulfport; that's definitely worth a visit for anyone in the area. And we went to Shaggy's next door for lunch which has excellent gluten free offerings.
2. The one downer of the trip is that I had the worst migraine I've had in a long time and spent a couple of days in bed. Fortunately, I had a neuro appointment yesterday. I am going up on my modafinil dosage and starting topamax which prevents migraines. Of course, it also can cause glaucoma and make your blood acidic, so here's hoping I don't go blind or have kidney failure. *crosses fingers for success*
3. Fiona had a dentist appointment yesterday, and Josh had to take her since I was going to the neuro. I wasn't thinking about it and just assumed that it was a routine cleaning. Imagine his dismay when she came out to the lobby with her face all stuffed full of gauze! I had forgotten that this was the appointment to have two teeth pulled (her teeth are all kinds of jacked up; she's had some teeth pulled before to make room for her grown up teeth). Fiona wasn't phased in the slightest, but Josh was a little OMG. Whoops! My bad.
4. A yearling doe meandered about the backyard yesterday afternoon for quite some time.
