1. Got an email last night that Emma's laptop has been repaired and is on its journey back to us. Wow at the speed and hooray!

2. Took Emma for the first of several getting ready for college shopping trips and we found clothes that she liked and which fit her. Hooray! Poor bb. Aesthetically she is into men's clothes, but she's got the tits and the hips her mama gave her, so shopping is generally frustrating to her.

3. I don't really have anything to say, but I want to talk to you guys. :) <3 So ask me a question or two! Anything goes. I do love to hear myself talk. *g*

Commended to her attention:

https://www.genderfreeworld.com/

All their shirts are made in 3 or 4 different cuts for different body shapes (including shapes with large breasts). Relatively expensive but SO WORTH IT. Some of my most-complimented garments come from there.

Also, gender-neutral (and extremely comfy) boxer shorts.

One suggestion I have seen is to buy her men's shirts that approximately fit her through the shoulders and are large enough for her bust, then get them tailored to fit her waistline. Apparently that is not very expensive if you find a local alterations shop.

I was going to say there are quite a few online shops like this nowdays! It obviously tends to be more on the pricier side, but definitely would be good for holiday/birthday presents or something for her to save up for.

Here's another one I found just by googling: https://kirrinfinch.com/

This might also have some options: https://www.townandcountrymag.com/style/fashion-trends/g30538059/androgynous-clothing-brands/

That WAS quick! I'm glad you're getting it back so soon and don't have to worry about Emma going to college without it.

That sucks for Emma, but your comment about tits and hips made me chuckle.

I have a tough one, since this post is about Emma. How far away from home is Emma going to college, and what have you done to prepare for a slightly emptier nest?

My college was 3 hours away from home, too. The first year I came home every other weekend. Partly because I missed home, but mostly because I had a new boyfriend I left back there. Also, to do laundry, lol!

Things like Skype will make the distance seem more bearable. Maybe plan some things to keep you busy and distracted so time flies until the first holiday or weekend she comes home for a visit.

Yay for Fiona, lol! I'm going to miss you, sis, get out of my new room!!! *g*

Admittedly I was in college during the Cretaceous, but there was always a ride board (which I'm pretty sure is now online) where someone driving home to see his girlfriend or homesick or has to go to her hometown dentist or whatever arranges to pick up a fellow student and drive them reasonably near their destination in exchange for gas money.

There are AMAB persons who do not have triangle torsos and teeny waists! Consider Big & Tall Men's shops for people who, like the Bishop in one of Trollope's novels, have "a deep chest." (He wanted to write "fat stomach" but the publisher insisted.)

For that matter, an awful lot of people of all genders just buy everything in XXL and let it drape.

Chad or Skyler?

A lot of WASP-y or preppy stores and mail order houses sell a lot of androgynous clothes anyway--the person ordering the khaki bermudas, striped button-down, cricket or fisherman's sweater, cords, boat shoes, jeans, faded red chinos, or yellow rain slicker might be either Chad or Skyler.

An androgynous outfit could be made more masculine-looking with accessories, like cordovan brogues instead of running shoes and a tie or bow tie and a pork pie hat.

Also, did I ever tell you about nuts.com as an inexpensive source of gluten free foods?

Emma has my sympathies. It's irritating to have an aesthetic that you can't make work easily for you.

... What would you say is your clothing aesthetic?

When I was younger I had a strong sense of, well, what I wanted to wear which didn't always make sense to others.

Now my colour palette looks a lot like yours but with some abstract pattern shirts thrown in. My usual uniform is jeans/linen trousers depending on the time of year with a button up shirt and shoes and jewellery that amuse me.

I do wear pjs/sweats and no bra most of the time right now but next week I'll start working on site again. :D

I was lucky in that my grammar school had an excellent theatre program and I also acted with local amateur groups. One of my undergraduate degrees is in drama so I remained a punk theatre kid for a long time. :D

Speaking of mondegreens, which ones do you personally do? I used to sing "there's a bathroom on the right" for so long. And I remain convinced that "da da da duh!" in "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" is "pterodactyl!"

I tend (especially now I've left work and don't need 'professional' wear) to get about in men's polo shirt a lot in summer, and jumpers from the local manswear place in winter. Comfort over all now...

I'm glad Emma is getting back her computer, and that you got her shopping done. Hopefully, she'll continue to find clothes she likes, despite her tits! LOL.

Just curious, what's the longest fanfic you've ever read?

There used to be this honking big HP fic called The Brave New World I loved, it was like over a million words. I managed to read it two or three times before it was taken down. LOL!

But yeah, I hear ya on not being all that discriminating when first starting out in fanfiction. I'm ashamed of some of the stuff I read and liked.
