Wow, Emma! My brain shut down about halfway through AP Calc, and I passed basically due to the pity of the teacher, so I am very impressed by Emma.

I did not have the opportunity to take the class in HS, and I have no idea how I would have done in it or on the exam. I managed to make an A in Cal 1 in college but only with lots and lots of studying and help from the prof and fellow students. It would have been a struggle for me.

I don't recall if you said and I'm having a brain fart, but does Emma have any idea what direction she wants to go in college?

(I was determined to do a poli-sci thing, but took one math class and switched to a math major, lol!)

She is going to do biology but she's not committed to that really. She basically has no idea what she wants to do which is fine from my perspective but freaks her out. I keep telling her that once she gets there and takes a few classes she'll start to get a better idea of what she wants to do.

I didn't know you majored in math! That's an unusual lead in to law school. I bet few lawyers have undergrad degrees in math.

From my experience, you don't always know until you're there what you really want to do.

I did! My other option post-graduation was to get my teaching certificate. There have been many a time I wish I'd gone that route. However, if I hadn't been bored with my work life, I might never have found online fandom, so there's that. *g*

I seem to remember you saying that you didn't practice long as an attorney. Is that right? What sort of law did you specialize in?

Real Estate. I worked for a law firm as a paralegal because finding work around here at the time wasn't easy. (I originally didn't even want to practice and I worked in a bank and as an office manager before I went to the law firm.) I loved my co-workers, hated my boss. I eventually learned something he'd done to impede a promotion for me and left. I did real estate on my own for a while, but I really didn't enjoy it and eventually it fizzled out. It was easier to do something I didn't love when I worked for someone else (and had co-workers I liked), as it turns out. o_O
