2. I got my first Christmas card that wasn't from my mommy today! It was from misbegotten. Fiona is in love with the dragon who delivers mail from the forest animals to Santa. <3

3. Booster shot achieved! So far, my arm is mildly sore, and that's it. *crosses fingers*

4. Who took a modafinil and graded like a fiend today? This gal! There is still way more of it left than I would like, but I can see an end in sight. Wish me luck. I don't think there's a chance in hell that I'll actually finish tomorrow, but a girl can dream.

5. Over Thanksgiving break, my mom showed me how to boil eggs in the instant pot, and y'all I am a convert. I am now a card-carrying member of the Church of Instant Pot Boiled Eggs. I will never again boil eggs any other way. These were new eggs. NEW FREAKING EGGS. And they peeled up like Spike shucking his duster for Buffy. Every yolk perfectly centered and perfectly yellow. Mom said every single egg she puts in the instant pot comes out like that every single damn time. It is the Rapture, my friends! No more shall I abrade my thumbs upon the shells of eggs that break off a micrometer at time only to reveal a pockmarked and hideous surface that cannot be served to guests but only devoured in the pantry in secret shame. No more shall I suffer the horror of the lopsided egg or the yolk with the dreaded Ring of Ick. Oh frabjous day!

Seriously, it's pretty awesome.

Instant pots are not cheap, but we use ours so much. It's the best kitchen appliance we have ever bought hands down.

Her writing is so beautiful. I'm always so sad that I don't know the fandoms she's writing in, and I didn't *really* know this fandom, but I knew enough that I could enjoy the story. <3

Interesting! I've heard a lot about instant pots, but nothing about making eggs in them. (Not that we're going to get one. We have enough kitchen gadgets as it is, no room for any more!)

How did you learn how to use it? My sister was given one as a gift and she's just walking around it suspiciously, kicking its tires. She is a trained chef and doesn't really think she needs it, but a good friend gave it to her and so feels obligated to try it out but is not sure where to start.

Well to be perfectly honest, I learned to use it by making Josh do it. However, my mother who is a technophobe has no problems with it. I think following the manual is pretty straight forward.

I've watched Josh. He just puts shit in it, clamps the lid on, presses a button, and walks away.

And with the eggs, that's all we did.

That's why I am not doing Christmas cards this year. LOL

We do deviled eggs for holidays. And put boiled eggs in potato salad. And just eat boiled eggs.

We like eggs. LOL

LOL! Eggs are supposed to be good for you. Unless you're like me and get sick off eating the pure egg. I can eat eggs in things like cake but not a fried, boiled, or scrambled egg. Very weird.

Yeah, I can't get the flu shot. And I'm allergic to all sorts of allergy meds, most of which aren't made anymore because they turned out not to be safe so I guess that's a good thing. LOL.

You'd think there would be a flu shot that isn't egg based by now. I guess because they have to come up with a different one each year it would be too expensive to come up with two? IDK

Oh, pass that recipe on to me. I don't eat eggs because I'm vegan but my dad might like some and I hate to boil and peel because they don't peel!

You just put them in the instant pot for 5 minutes of cooking time (with some water in the bottom). That's it. Then you take them out and put them in the ice bath just like you would when you boil them in a pot.
