So, as I think y'all aren't gonna get right on that, RUN DON'T WALK to read these two stories. You will not be disappointed; you will instead squee with joy in your heart and perhaps become so full of happiness that you will indeed write Jeffrey Steingarten teaching Bonecrusher to make the most awesome cornbread madelines ever before drizzling him with honey and licking it off his glorious face.

I have not seen this movie. I don't know what it's about except that it stars Anne Hathaway and either Meryl Streep or Glenn Close (who I confuse) and that it concerns the fashion industry. And yet......damn does this fic work for me. TLGN gets all the fashion industry notes right; I believe that these women are jetting all over the world and making this fantastic magazine. I believe in these characters; TLGN makes them real, exciting, compelling, sympathetic. There's a real undercurrent of angst to some of these chapters, where Andy is so obviously NOT GETTING what Miranda means and it's just a wonderful thing to see her figure it out. Go read this now.

I haven't read Buffy fic in forfreakingever, y'all; I'm just not all that interested anymore. But this? This blew me away. (See how I'm making Willow-punctuated sentences as a result LOL) This is written in list form and is a short, yet amazing read. The entries for the first Slayer and then the Many Slayers are particularly awesome.
