Have some music.

Rolling in the Deep by Adele Raw and scratchy and honey over whiskey. Yum.

Our Own Pretty Ways by First Aid Kit They're in the woods with their instruments and their voices. This is not produced at all. They're just this damn good.

You're Not Coming Home Tonight by First Aid Kit God, the harmony is so gorgeous on this one. This might be my favorite of theirs so far.

Have some Buffy.

A Gift of Ordinary Magic by [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs; HP/BtVS XOVER; Xander-centric; Medium
I am in awe of this story. You can't be in Buffy fandom and not know that [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs has one of the best handles on Xander's character of us all. Her Xander voice and Xander motivation and Xander insight are always impeccable and interesting, but this story, wow. This story takes her usual brilliance and kicks up a notch or two. "A Gift of Ordinary Magic" deftly weaves two universes together--one in which magic has never existed and one in which magic is dying. Both of these worlds are harsh and bleak and gifted with extraordinary grace where it is least expected. Beautiful and moving. How did it take me six years to find this fic?

Life Cycle of a Monster by [livejournal.com profile] sunnyd_lite; Warren-centric; short
This is so brief but so telling in terms of the person Warren will become. Excellent character study.

Seraph by [livejournal.com profile] snickfic; Spike-centric MPREG gen; looong
I have mad love for this fic. First off, how many gen MPREGs does a gal run across? The vast majority of MPREG is focused on a romantic relationship, and I love that this has nothing to do with romance or sex. Secondly, this is season four Spike to a T. He's angry at being chipped (and knocked up), he's forced to interact with and depend on his sworn enemies whom he keeps revising his opinion of (albeit grudgingly). This Spike is mean and cruel at times and he doesn't really care about the Scoobies (except when he does), and I promise you'll enjoy watching him and those around him change as his pregnancy progresses.

MPREG!

Back in Black by [livejournal.com profile] imkalena; Snape/Sirirus; Adult; mpreg
This story is just plain weird. It's bizarre and strange, and I love every single word of it. This has possibly the best Snape voice I've ever read--he is angry, bitter, jealous, vulnerable, afraid, resolute, resigned, full of despair, immature, cruel, petty, and unable to allow the final vestiges of hope in his heart die out completely. I have rarely read a Snape in fandom that manages to be just as unpalatable and unlikeable as Rowling presents him in canon while simultaneously making him as sympathetic and interesting as Alan Rickman manages to make him. In this story, Sirius Black returns from the dead pregnant with Voldemort's baby. Yeah. I know. But here's the thing, even if you hate mpreg, if you care at all for Severus Snape, you should read this fic. It's simply stunning.

Love Unmasked by T'Yanna Wiles; Snape/?; Adult; mpreg
Snape gets pregnant and spends the rest of the fic trying to figure out who the father is. Once he is revealed, the father surprises Snape with his maturity and his desire to be a part of Snape's life.

Essential Qualities in a Sperm Donor by Gebbi; Snape/Lupin; Adult; mpreg
In this story, Snape gets himself pregnant by an unwitting Lupin and then hires him as the baby's nanny. Here Snape is clueless and unwittingly cruel and searching for something that he doesn't even realize he so desperately craves. *loves*

Genesis by [livejournal.com profile] hanfics; Harry/Draco; Adult; mpreg
This gets bonus points for the best first line ever. I knew after one line that I was going to adore this fic, and I wasn't wrong. Draco and Harry begin a relationship of sorts and Draco ends up pregant. Draco is just as isolated and lonely and scared as he is in the canon rendering of HPB, and I love the added layer of this secret he carries. Wonderful read.

So, I just finished reading Beautiful Lifetime Event by [livejournal.com profile] astolat (McShep, Adult) and I loved it. I think it's very different from most MPREG that I've read in that it isn't concerned with the physical changes that the pregnant man goes through and the vulnerability that results from those changes. In fact, the actual pregnancy takes place off stage in a kind of gestation unit. This fic focuses instead on the way the relationship dynamic evolves between John and Rodney after they have a child together and it's a really unique take on the genre. There's also some excellent secondary stuff going on with John and his parents that I don't want to spoil you for, but it's a really arresting look at the ramifications of possessing a strong ATA gene in a population where the gene is largely absent.

So here's the thing. I want more. LOL I want Carson to be pregnant! And Lorne! And Ronon! And oh gods do I want to read about pregnant Rodney in the worst freaking possible way! *quivers* Please, please rec me some SGA MPREG; I don't care who's pregnant. Give me your crack; give me your angst; give me your swollen ankles.
