I don't remember the episode's title, but that was the most fucktarded, retarded, stupidass hour of television ever made. I mean, it was a one-off so it's not like it screwed up canon afterwards or anything, but it was a seriously painful bit of ridiculousness.
It's hard for me to suggest a Jossverse episode because even in eps that I loathe (the Mother Bezor one, for example) there's always at least two minutes of complete shiny and awesomeness that I would hate to be gone. If I had to get rid of one Jossverse ep, though, it would probably be "Hell's Bells" because I think having Xander and Anya not marry is infinitely less interesting than actually hitching them up.

Date: 2007-08-25 07:49 pm (UTC)I love to read non-con. I really, really do. And I know exactly why. It's because my sexuality was formed around sneaking my mom's romance novels in which rape features prominently. Beautiful woman is captured by a gorgeous man who forces her to have sex with him which she initially resists but then can't get enough of. Now, in real life I know things don't work that way, and I don't want them to. But in fiction and fantasy life, that's a pretty powerful image for me.
So, I'd love to be able to write one of those twenty chapter epics where Radek and Rodney are captured by the Genii and sexually violated (but made to enjoy it to their shame) which naturally leads to them having sex with each other. *snort* I know that's a ridiculous logical leap, but I can't be the only one making it or there wouldn't be so many stories of that ilk out there.
It's not that I'm afraid to write the story, just unequal to the task, I fear. I'm never as sexually explicit in my own writing as the stories I like to read.

Date: 2007-08-28 11:47 pm (UTC)Victorian lit is also the antecedent of the romantic comedy and the soap opera and I enjoy both those genres so this is a nice way of thinking about their roots. I have a fondness for horror and melodrama and subversion, all of which find their places in the Victorian period.
You know what always surprises me about ostensibly het romance novels? How many lesbian scenes there are in those novels. There's something interesting in that fact, that novels which are largely intended for the heterosexual housewife contain scenes of lesbian sex.
