Dear Remixer: Go Hog Wild
Mar. 2nd, 2008 09:43 pmDear Remixer,
This is my first year to do this ficathon (or really any established, multifandom ficathon) and I am both incredibly exicted and very, very nervous.
Please, please, please feel free to do whatever with any of my stories. I may be very wrong (as my remixee may later lament!), but I feel like this challenge is for the remixer not the original author. This is about what *you* want to do with my work--what you want to subvert, what you want to illuminate, what road you want to travel. This is not about pleasing me (although I think I can say with a fair degree of certainty that *anything* you choose to do will please me) but rather taking what I've done and putting your own fingerprints on it.
I have tended in much of my fanfic to either focus on characters that are on the periphery (Regan Tam or Ava or Moaning Myrtle) or on characters that are largely considered unlikeable (yo, Kavanagh! LOL) in an attempt to make those characters more sympathetic. I think you have a fair amount of material in several fandoms to work with (including Die Hard! Don't forget the Die Hard. *g*) as well as a mixture of secondary and primary characters.
In short, go hog wild. I am already honored that someone is taking such a thoughtful look at what I've written and I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Any positive vibes you can send my way as I work on my own assignment would be appreciated muchly. LOL
Lorraine
