Last week, my journal stopped displaying some content, and when I filled out a support request, lj's suggestion was to temporarily change layouts until whatever was going on with that layout got fixed.

So I changed back to my original layout (which, honestly, is the one I have loved the best even though I know some people don't like it because the comment button is under the poster's user icon rather than at the bottom of the page where it belongs) and decided I'd like to stay with it. However, I cannot figure out how to change the colors for the links. This is something I've had no trouble doing in the past (with this layout even!).

[livejournal.com profile] decynthus has been helping me, and she said:

Did you maybe go to the "Text" link that's listed beneath "Style" in the left margin? That one goes to options to do with naming your journal. Be sure you go to "Style", then pick "Colors" and click "Text" from that list. There are three boxes for the hexadecimal codes: "link color", "visited link color" and "active link color". I don't know if that will change the color for cut text tags, though. Just try it out, I s'pose.

These boxes just do not exist for Unearthed when I go to customize my journal layout. I click on color and on text and all I get is one box that says default color for page.

I am so frustrated, y'all, because I DESPISE!!!!!!! the blue links, and I cannot figure out how to make them go away despite the lovely [livejournal.com profile] decynthus's help.

I will kind of do anything requested of me by the person who can help me fix this.

The only thing I can think of is to go into the CSS code and fix it there. Is that possible?

Probably maybe I don't know. LOL

I don't know anything about CSS unfortunately.

Sweetie, try this. I use the flexible squares as my layout and this is what I need to do to change colors. I'll list it out as I best can.

Click on: Customize your style
On the left hand side, you should see some options- Mine go Display, then Style, then Text… Click on the one called Style.

You should get several boxes where you can change the colors as long as you know what the html color code is.

Under the first of color options, you should have these options (scroll down):
Sidebar
Entries
Comments

I think what you want is Entries.

I'm not sure if this will help, some layouts won't let you make many changes unless you know CSS. I had to have someone do my Hawaii Five-O Vidders layout for me as she knew CSS.

Thank you so much for trying to help.

It's not there either. :(

I think I am going to have to beg someone to just do it for me. LOL I have a couple friends who are constantly fiddling with their layouts, so maybe they know what to do.
