Is anyone who knows CSS willing to fix the unvisited/visited link colors for me since I seem unable to figure out how to do so despite the lovely help of several of you? PM me; comments screened.

Let me know what you find out because now I'm right there in the boat with you. With all the poking around into theme changing, I decided to revamp mine, and you guessed it, it came with a different page for customizing that doesn't have those links. Grrrr.

I am so glad for the external justification that I am not just losing it. LOL In the past, I had no trouble with changing these things, and now it's like the whole option to do so is just gone.

My friend who knows CSS just did it for me. I never did figure out how to fix it within the lj layout.

If you have your own css layout I can try to find it, but I am really not good at LJ css. A website from scratch, no problem...make adjustments to LJ layouts, nothing.

I'm not using any CSS at all. I'm just using the lj template layouts. I've been able to adjust the link colors in years past when I've switched layouts, but now I can't and decynthus confirms (and she's using a totally different layout than me). Somebody suggested that a person knowing CSS might be able to fix it for me.

IDK. It's beyond my ken. LOL

Okay. So. I've fiddled with the unearthed layout in several different 'styles' and there's just no place to change your link color - UNLESS you can find the the CSS for your stylesheet. It's not on the custom CSS box in the "customize" page. Boohiss

I'd like the unclicked upon text to be a pink like in the middle square of the first vertical column (http://mashiwyatrahman.webs.com/apps/calendar/showAgenda?calID=4194692) and the clicked upon text to be a pink like the bottom square in the first vertical column. It looks like the clicked upon links are pretty much the color I want them, it's just the unclicked on ones that are wrong.

If you can help me, I will be so grateful. (And also write you a fic!)

Okay, go to the customize page and click on "custom CSS". Is there anything in the box? If not, paste this in and hit save:

color: #930050;
}

.BoxContents a:visited {
color: #56002F !important;
}

.EntryComments a {
color: #930050;
}

.EntryComments a:visited {
color: #56002F !important;
}

Reload your journal. Does that do it? (Be aware that the colours may look a bit different when applied to text than they do in a big huge block!)

Eh, I see you've still got the blue links in the comments, and I can't figure out how to change that without also changing the menu bar at the bottom ... Sorry!

It should make the link the same colour as in the entries, I think.

You can try it out and see if it works for you - just replace everything in the custom CSS box with this:

#Content a {
color: #930050;
}

#Content a:visited {
color: #56002F !important;
}

I think I'm going to use the original one you sent me; this one does indeed make the comments look how I want them, but it changes the subject titles of posts into pink and they're too hard to read (IMHO) on the dark subject line bar. I'm going to play with it though. I think if I lighten the subject line bar, it just might work. In any event, thank you so much! It's mainly the posts that were bugging me as I tend to make long recs with lots of links in them; comments are usually not just chock full of links.
