1. Something has got to be wrong with me because that Monster Trucks movie looks pretty cute to me.

2. I'm doing the reading challenge on Goodreads. Rec me a book to read this year.

3. So, I met both sections of the senior level class I'm teaching yesterday. Today, three people dropped the class. LOL I'm choosing to believe I was both too stunningly gorgeous and too intimidatingly erudite for the room.

4. Ask me a question; tell me a thing! Give me something to do for the next few hours, friends.

I wonder if you would like the novel Submission? Read the description ;-) Let me know your thoughts if you read it

The Sleepwalker's Guide to Dancing by Mira Jordan was my favourite read of 2015. I'm not sure what I liked best in 2016 -- maybe The Watchmaker of Filigree Street? It depends what you like, though.

For my Korean homework, I have to write some wishes for 2017. What are yours?

*fingers crossed for all of those*

I suck at thinking of personal things, so all of mine are political. (I think I'm doing it wrong.)

Hee! But most of your wishes are for your family, so only indirectly for you. ;-)

I looked at some of your favorites on Goodreads. I think you might like 'The Core of the Sun' by Johanna Sinisalo.

I've been reading this very Swedish YA witch series that starts with The Circle, where the majority of the conflict is really about finding one's place in one's family and the world, and the stuff with the witch's council is kind of secondary, and the evil demons and prophecy are almost tertiary. It's slow going and I'm only on the second book, but it's interesting for being just so different for what I expect from an American YA witch series.

ETA: Here is the first book in the series: The Circle by Sara Elfgren and Mats Strandberg

It's well after bedtime by now, so I hope you had a lovely night!

You should give it a try! Apparently it has been translated into many languages and the first book was made into a film.

I found it both a well-written book, if a bit slow-moving for what I'm personally used to, and also interesting in a "this is not plotted with my cultural tastes in mind" perspective. Which is not a bad thing! It was a fascinating thing, actually, and I loved it for that.

People don't always like a lady with opinions. :) Go, girl.
