Much goodness of the Mal/Jayne variety to be found over at [livejournal.com profile] club_joss my lovelies. Only you can prevent CJ from becoming Lorraine's Forum.

Also, who is going to Writercon? I bought my tickets and want to squee a little.

I'd love to go, but really doubt I can afford it. The no job thing sucks. :)

I did try to convince my mom that Travis would like to go for his birthday, but I don't think she bought it. So I believe we're going to Tennessee or Virginia instead.

That's disappointing. I'd love to meet you. :) There's always next year.

Yeah, in theory by next summer I will be done with school and working.

Now see if it was Jonathon's birthday I could probably convince him to say he wanted to go but Travis is too stubborn.

I do have to figure out a trip for his birthday though. SixFlags Ohio isn't going to happen since it was to see the whales and they aren't there anymore. :(

Hmmmmmmm......

I got nothing. LOL All my ideas for vacations revolve around eating and going to bars, not very kid friendly. LOL

My friend Tony suggested Put-in Bay in Ohio. His selling point...They have the worlds longest bar. Because that's a good selling point for a 6 year olds birthday. :)

But you're vacation ideas will change soon, as your daughter gets older. Bars aren't going to work very soon. :)

True, true. It's just that my idea of a vacation is still "all the things I used to do before I was a mommy." LOL I can't wait until she's old enough for museums and to go camping. It'll be fun being reminded of my own childhood through her.

It's great when they want to do those things. Jonathon loves learning, so he likes museums or Detroit has a great Science Center. Travis is actually the problem with finding something to do this summer, since Jonathon gets to go somewhere for his birthday, we have to do the same for Travis. Which rules out any place where I'd want to got to museums and stuff like that.

Although he did ask if we were going back to that place where you "sit in the old bus and hear a story." Which was the Henry Ford Museum, and the Rosa Parks bus.

"Stronger, more powerful climaxes" should DEFINITELY be a Writercon workshop. I don't think I'm going tho.

Nope, not dead...RL has me chasing my tail though, but I also admit to being a tad overwhelmed when it comes to Firefly fanfic. Having a hard time jumping in the pool with it. Maybe it's just because I haven't immersed myself in the show quite as much as Buffy/Angel or something, dunno. I promise to get my butt over there and try, though!

On a side, but related, note: http://whedonesque.com/ (http://whedonesque.com/) has a rather lively discussion about slash going over there. Apparently Simon/Mal/Jayne made a top twelve slash list (as did Spike and Angel)...It's been interesting following it. There are folks who can't see homosexual innuendo if it bit them on the ass, but other's that are a little more open to it. The Man himself even posted on the topic. I just can in NO WAY EVER picture Kirk and Spock doin' the nasty..that's just gross, like imagining my grandparents doing it! :)

Hey! I've been missing you. :)

I completely understand about Firefly. Much as I love the fandom, it's not for everybody. You do as much or as little as you want in that regard.

I've been reading that thread. How cool that Joss spoke up. See, I'm all about the Kirk/Spock. Even before I knew what slash was, their undying Twu Wuv (with an occasional McCoy sandwich) was very obvious to me. LOL

LOL! Twu Wuv...just spit my drink out!

I guess I just have the movies stuck in my head, where they're all a lot older and a lot less pretty. Not that the unpretty aren't entitled to a little somethin' either! They definitely do have a relationship that transcends time, much like a Spangel sammich!

*g*

I do wonder what their sex would be like, though. Would it be a lot of that boring finger stroking that Vulcans seem to favor or what? Cause, I'm sorry. I don't think James T. would be satisfied with a little knuckle grappling.

*snort* The luv-er that Kirk always came across to me as tells me he wouldn't be satisfied with a 'hand job.'

RFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever seen Trekkies? My friends and I watched that this week and it is hilarious. This enormous guy in inexplicable drag sings this filk song about Khan and the death of his wife. I thought I might injure myself internally. There's also this guy that builds a replica of the Pike unit that he drives to the grocery.

Now I'm imagining the inimitable song stylings of William Shatner:
I want a man with a slow hand,
Give me a lover with an easy touch,
I want somebody who will take some time,
Not come and go in a heated rush.

*steps away from the jukebox*

That's because Jean is quite possibly the most generous gal on the planet. Plus, she truly enjoys making icons. It's a fun thing for her. ANd she loves me, though Lord know why, so you get loved by proximity. LOL
