She's fast enough for you, old man.

1. We saw Solo. I was extremely skeptical but ended up very pleasantly surprised by how good the movie is.
I really wanted someone who looks and sounds more like Harrison Ford in the role, but the actor did a really good job of mimicking the cadence of Ford's voice and capturing his mannerisms.
I love Woody Harrelson so hard; I kinda want him to be the grizzled and pessimistic mentor in everything after Hunger Games, Zombieland, and now Solo. His betrayal of Han hurts, but I love that his death scene just confirms that, yes, Han shoots first. LOL
I love that Kira didn't betray Han. I knew she was going to run out on him in the end, but I didn't realize she'd be running to the Dark Side of the Force. I thought she was going to set herself up as the new leader of the Crimson Dawn.
Han is so sweet in this movie; he's like Luke in A New Hope. He's not naive like Luke, but he's optimistic and believes the best of people like Luke.
Love everything with Han and Lando; wow, Donald Glover really inhabits that role. Amazing performance. I love that Han beats him at his own game. Fantastic. In the day since we watched, I've started looking at reviews, and I see that some people think this movie means that they don't see each other again until Empire, but IDK why.
Love everything with Chewie and Han. Oh, my heart. Their friendship is so awesome.
Enfys Nest is a terrible name. Horrible. Threw me out of the movie every time anyone said it, mostly because I had no idea what they were saying and thought it was Infant Mess or something like that.
I sincerely thought that Enfys Nest was supposed to be Woody Harrelson and Thandie Newton's daughter, but I guess not. That was a weird moment.
Now we know why Threepio thinks the Millennium Falcom speaks with a weird dialect. LOL
Is all the stuff about Han's background EU canon, or did they make it up for the movie? Anybody know?
On the whole, two thumbs up!
2. Emma and I watched The Hitman's Bodyguard last night. So much fun, y'all. It's like an AU Fury and AU Deadpool go on a road trip. It's really violent but very, very funny. If you like Deadpool, you'll like this one.
3. watch them rolling back by napricot; Infinity Wars Spoilers; Bucky/Steve
“The journey to reach Thanos will take some time. We will spend that time getting in touch with our feelings and loving each other and our beloved lost comrades. We will share and communicate! We will build a bifrost of love and thus reach our beloved dead even across the voids between planes! In this way, we will make sure they remain connected to us.”
“Gross,” mutters Nebula.
“And then! We will murder Thanos with our bare hands!! Is that understood?!” finishes Thor, roaring by now, a bright, crazed grin fixed on his face. Sparks of lightning are crackling off of him. Steve inches his chair back from him, just in case.

Date: 2018-06-04 10:42 pm (UTC)I saw some speculation that trolls are intentionally bombing this movie on Rotten Tomatoes and that other fan-drive review site.
I have no idea what all the meh is about this movie. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I am looking forward to seeing it again.

Date: 2018-06-06 12:05 pm (UTC)I don't get the meh either. I thought it was a perfectly fun movie; I don't think it deserves an Oscar or anything, but most of the movies I enjoy watching don't deserve Oscars. LOL

Date: 2018-06-05 07:09 am (UTC)As for her name, I could tell it was Enfys Nest (well, not the spelling, obvs) but didn't realize the first few times they said it that it was referring to a person. I thought based on nest that it was a place. (Especially since it sounds like Enfy's Nest, which sounds like even more of a place name.)
I really liked the film overall, though.
