( spoilers for The Force Awakens )I forgot to mention that Fiona woke up on Christmas morning covered in livid hives. We started Benadryl and removed as many contact sources as possible (no more bubble bath and we dried her off with one of my T-shirts, the peep show one Exec sent me, instead of a towel laundered in their detergent, etc). The next day, we contacted her doctor because they were still around and her face and hands and feet were swelling. So probably something she ate instead of something she touched. She's been on round the clock Benadryl since then, and I've been keeping a food diary. The hives are almost gone now, but the doc said we'd need to continue Benadryl for a day or two after they're completely gone.
To my knowledge, she ate nothing at Josh's family's she hadn't eaten before. She ate pancakes made from Bisquick with Great Value syrup; she'd eaten pancakes before although not for awhile since I am a bad mom and don't make breakfast and probably not that syrup. We ate at a Japanese restaurant Tuesday lunch and she didn't break out until Friday morning, so I don't think it could have been that delayed of a reaction. IDK Everything else was like apples and cheese and goldfish and lunch meat, all stuff she eats here.
Despite looking horrific, she wasn't super itchy and barely even scratched and she acted fine the whole time, playing and happy. So that's good.
I'm just terrified that she has a food allergy, or worst case scenario, something like celiac which bizarrely can manifest in hives and other skin ailments. :( I am hoping that she just decided to lick the poinsettias or shove some horrible rock in her mouth and that it's a one off thing.
