Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

It must be the third one where the pacing goes off this rails because this second book is just as tightly plotted as the first.

In this sequel, Jacob leaves his family and life in the twentieth century behind to throw his lot in with the peculiar children who are trying to save their headmistress. I really love the world building; the idea of time loops that allow time travel is extremely cool, and I love the addition of peculiar animals to the mix. I don't quite understand how the aging forward thing works with the time loops, and I can't decide if that's a genuine plot hole or if I just don't get it.

Really enjoyed this re-read.

This is an AU where BtVS is taking place in SPAAAAAAACE, and I absolutely love it. This kind of AU is so hard to write, and gloss totally nails it. The way she translates the BtVS events and characterization into this new setting is a lot of fun to read. Check it out.

I read gloss' story a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Buffy/Cordelia has been a fave 'ship of mine for some time. And to get the two of them ON a ship. Well. :)

gloss was actually one of my Gateways into fandom. I stumbled onto fandom as a grad student and found a Yahoo mailing list where she had been posting her fic, and it just blew my minds.
