I've been thinking of maybe using this journal for something completely separate from my lj. I have no plans to move from lj as my primary journal and I figure that if people are really interested in reading my fic, they'll go to where I'm posting it. I am grateful for all of you who are crossposting to lj because I definitely don't want to miss what you're writing, but I don't think that's an option I want to use. These two journals feel different to me and I don't want to just duplicate content.

So here's my question for you: what do you think I should use this journal for?

Meta?
Personal posts?
Private journal?
Plot bunny depository?
Something else?

Also, who knows where the Star Trek comms are on DW because I've been posting to st_reboot on lj and YUMMMMMMMMMMMMY, but I noticed today that a DW fic had been linked to that comm and I'd like to read whatever's being posted here and maybe not duplicated on lj. :)

I like having two separate journals, so I say go for it. I don't know how to make the division, though. Hmm. Must think on that.

Also, I keep seeing ST comms being promoted -- give me a moment and I'll gather the links.

comms!

Okay, for some reason I could only find 2: [community profile] ncc_1701 and [community profile] startrek_reboot . I will keep looking.

[personal profile] helens78 just posted today (or yesterday) with a bunch of Trek comms, I think.

I'm still hanging out at lj cos most of my flist is still there... if you were to use your journal here for something different I would still check both places regardles of what you use it for as your journal is one I read all the time even if I don't comment too much of late.

I'm as puzzled as you are about what to do with my DW account. *g* So far, I've cross-posted everything (not that there's much volume) as back-up and created a dragon comm.

I found this ST comm which doesn't appear to be duplicated on LJ and seems fairly active. If you check out 'Star Trek' in DW interests, there are more, though I'm not sure how many are simply mirrors of the LJ versions.

LMAO! Of course they have goatees. Because, you know, always so fetching, especially on Spock. *g*

The whole RaceFail thing has made me want to be more involved in the meta/academic/politics side of fandom, but I also want to have a happy fannih space. And since a lot of the people involved in meta are on Dreamwidth anyway, it seems like a natural fit.

Yeah. It means there probably won't be much activity on my DW journal for a while, because I'm doing the shut-up-and-listen thing. But there's stuff I care deeply about, and not using any online space to talk about it is making me feel shallow.

But then again, I have the luxury of time at the moment. No doubt things will be different next year.
