Rest Stop Near Leland, Mississippi by merryish Sam/Dean Adult M'kay, I'm a sucker for fic that's set in my own backyard. Love, love, love it. So this already scored points before I even opened the cut. *g* The tone of this is perfect. It's not crack, not at all, but it's funny--sharp, witty dialogue that just zings and characterization that's so spot on it's a little frightening. Short, sweet, sexy. Go read! Shooo!

Until the End of the World by geminigrl11 Sam/Dean Adult This is another AHBL coda and *sob sob sob* OMG! does it win. I am not giving anything away, but I adore the solution this writer invents to save Dean.

Mirror, Mirror by laguera25 Gen Adult This is the second of two chapters, with the first linked at the beginning of the post. This fic answers the question: Why do Dean's eyes bleed in "Bloody Mary?" What secret has he been keeping? One of my pet peeves is that writers often don't get children right; they infantilize them to a ridiculous degree or dumb down their thought processes. This author writes a pitch perfect wee!Dean; his fears and desires are so heartbreakingly realized.

OT3Verse by nilchance and beanside Jared/JDM/Jensen Adult Y'all, I am in love with this series. In love with it, and it's not over yet, so my love only has room to grow! Much like my waist. Ahem. Anyway, Jensen accidentally comes out of the closet on Howard Stern and Jared and Jeff take care of him in the aftermath of that revelation. I absolutely adore the way Jared and Jeff's relationship is portrayed here; so open and trusting and affectionate and just glorious really. Jensen is hurting and skittish and has all kinds of low self-esteem issues. *happy happy sigh* I literally cannot wait for more of this.

JDM/CMM verse by beanside and nilchance Jeffery Dean Morgan/Chad Michael Murray Adult Oh, yes, dear flist. You read that pairing right. *giggles hysterically* This fic is awesome. Really, really awesome. It just thrills me to no end to imagine the two of them together; it sounds weird, it really does, but lordy do these authors make it work. *loves* (There's one part that is not linked in the memories, but if you click on the tag function you'll be sure to get them all and I know this because I literally went through beanside's archive for the past six months just be sure I didn't miss anything LOL). I can't tell if this is done or not; I mean it certainly could end where it does. I just really don't want it to.

A Slow Smooth Burn Going Down b sadiekate Logan/Weevil Adult (The sequel to this fic is linked internally in the header information and is every bit as wonderful and includes Veronica in the sexing up bits LOL) I love Logan and Weevil together; ever since detention in the first season I thought those two oughta be going at like weasels. LOL What I love about this fic is how . . . gentle it is, maybe? No, that's not the right word. Easy doesn't fit either because this fic doesn't forget that this is Logan and Weevil and dude! Helluva lot of water under that particular bridge. The voices are right on and snarky when they need to be. I guess maybe the right word is quiet, like it's some sort of inevitability, those two.

OMG! I just finished mainlining season one of Veronica Mars and I am speechless. Completely speechless. An almost flawless 22 episodes of television. I mean, so good I had to change the subtitle on my journal. I am mostly unspoiled for season two, so don't give me a headsup unless it's to tell me that Weevil and Logan totally get it on in detention cause, wow. They should. So, rec me some Veronica Mars fanfic, please! Het, slash, gen, all donations accepted. I know you guys know where the good stuff is.

Letters Home by likethesun2 Hawkeye/Charles Winchester PG-13ish. You know how you had NO IDEA you wanted to read something? Sorta thought maybe if you did it'd be ridiculous or else a wee bit squicky? And then you read and you realize it was the very thing you'd been wanting all along? This fic is a lot like that. It's the Hawkeye we see more and more toward the end of the series, the one who's fragile and emotionally damaged, and the Winchester voice is spot on. Hawkeye stands in the gloom at the door of the Swamp, peering in. There isn’t that much different in him, Charles thinks, at least not when you look at him head-on. It’s when he doesn’t realize that he’s under scrutiny—there, as he throws a glance back over his shoulder, obliquely—that you see a faint flash. The white of the eyes, the twitch of the lips. It’s when he turns away that you see how he’s going away, and away, and away.

The Third Incurable Affliction by likethesun Hawkeye/BJ PG-13ish This is told from BJ's POV and mainly concerns his first experience in the OR.

Every Reason by garnettrees Hawkeye/BJ PG-13ish I think this is really lovely. Very sad. Very wistful. There's two narratives going on at once; a future perspective woven in with the events of the past that's done very well and makes for a very heart hurty piece.

Battering Ram by astolat Sam/Dean Adult This fic is based on the concept of the Costner movie The Postman. It's Sam and Dean in a post-apocalyptic world and it's absolutely beautiful. I *believe* this fic; it feels very much like something that could happen.

Sinking like the Setting Sun by tigriswolf Dean-centric, variety of pairings including Wincest, Adult This is written in list format, which I love, and is an excellent character study. Little slices of the things that make Dean Dean.

Problem, Plan, Solution by albydarned J2 Adult This makes me laugh. Oh it makes me laugh. The Jared voice here is stellar--just shy of cracky and loads of fun. Then there's also the OMG!smokinghot Impala sex scene. *fans face*
