Holy shit, NCIS!

lunabee34That was one of the most depressing episodes of TV I have ever watched, surpassed only by the episode of Bones where the kid dies of bone cancer.
So a previous episode, one of the best of the series, established that Ducky has lived a life without romantic love because he could not be with his female best friend. He and and his male best friend were both in love with her, and she ends up marrying the other guy. It's canonical that they both regretted the marriage and missed Ducky terribly.
Now we learn that Ducky had a younger brother he loved deeply enough to want to parent, loved deeply enough that he reconnected with former male best friend (and they were clearly pining for each other OMG) to try to win the brother in a custody battle, only to have that younger brother snatched from him by his evil mother named.........LORRAINE!
Ducky's young adult life is spent hopping around the globe trying to find his brother only to be told the brother died before they could be reunited.
In this episode he finds out the brother is alive and in a nursing home because he has early onset Alzheimers.
I'm not sure why they didn't include a kitten massacre. It would have fit the tenor of the show.
That being said, the ep was well done. They used the same actors as before for young Ducky and male best friend, which I liked.
